It seems that a Nokia employee may have accidentally confirmed that an AT&T 3G compatible N900 is in the works. News comes to us from a The Nokia Blog reader who questioned Nokia about a possible AT&T iteration of the handset to which the company replied:
Alvin,
You are correct, we’ve announced the Nokia N900 yesterday. We have not announced where it will be available but have just said that it will be released in select regions.
Regarding the network bands, you are correct – we announced a WCDMA 900/1700/2100 MHz bands. We have not made any announcements regarding an 850/1900/2100 MHz band device. An announcement will be forthcoming.
Thanks,
Joe
So, a forthcoming announcement about an 850/1900/2100MHz Nokia N900? We’ll keep you posted.
