Asus Launches S101 Luxury NetbookBy Chris - 10/04/2008 6:18:16 AM |

Asus launched another netbook. What a surprise! This time is not exactly the Eee we’ve talked so much about, although it has the Eee logo on it. The S101 is more like a luxury netbook and it looks like a baby MacBook Air to me.
There’s nothing special when it comes to features. You’ll find the same things inside:
- 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU
- 10.2-inch WSVGA display with LED-backlight
- SSD storage up to 64GB and
- WiFi 802.11n
- colors: brown, champagne and graphite.
- Bluetooth 2.0
- a VGA output
- a 4-in-1 card reader and three USB 2.0 ports.
- VGA quality webcam
- multitouch trackpad.
- dimensions: 264 x 180.5 x 18-25mm
- weight: 1kg
- Windows XP or Linux OS
- battery life of up to five hours.
The price tag varies depending on what you choose. The S101 with a 16GB SSD, Windows XP and an additional 16GB SD card will cost $699. A Linux-operated system with a 32GB SSD on costs $699 too while a Linux-operated system with a 64GB SSD will cost $799.
