Asus Launches S101 Luxury Netbook

Asus launched another netbook. What a surprise! This time is not exactly the Eee we’ve talked so much about, although it has the Eee logo on it. The S101 is more like a luxury netbook and it looks like a baby MacBook Air to me.

There’s nothing special when it comes to features. You’ll find the same things inside:

  • 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU
  • 10.2-inch WSVGA display with LED-backlight
  • SSD storage up to 64GB and
  • WiFi 802.11n
  • colors: brown, champagne and graphite.
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • a VGA output
  • a 4-in-1 card reader and three USB 2.0 ports.
  • VGA quality webcam
  • multitouch trackpad.
  • dimensions: 264 x 180.5 x 18-25mm
  • weight: 1kg
  • Windows XP or Linux OS
  • battery life of up to five hours.

The price tag varies depending on what you choose. The S101 with a 16GB SSD, Windows XP and an additional 16GB SD card will cost $699. A Linux-operated system with a 32GB SSD on costs $699 too while a Linux-operated system with a 64GB SSD will cost $799.
