Asus Eee 901 Gets Free 3G Chip UpgradeBy Maverick - 09/25/2008 2:55:12 PM |
In a rather awesome move, Asus has added a fairly significant feature to one of its netbooks completely free of charge for future customers – built-in 3G HSUPA connectivity. This will be available to the 8.9” Eee PC 901 model; the chip will be in all 901s that ship starting October.
The HSUPA chip will allow users to get download/upload speeds of up to 7.2/2 Mbps using AT&T’s network in the US. The 901 packs a 7.5 hour battery life and retails for around $500 at most retailers.
