Aquafairy mini fuel cells for more power than a batteryBy Mark Rollins - 03/11/2010 2:11:13 PM |
We’ve discussed mobile chargers for mobile devices before, but these are just like spare batteries. If you really want “more power”, you should probably go with fuel cells.
A Kyoto-based company known as Aquafairy are making several types of fuel cells that are powered by hydrogen/oxygen-based fuel cells. These devices are the micro FC Stick has 0.8W, the FC-Stick for 2W, the FC-Cube for 3W, and the FC-Cube Dual for 6W. As you can see, each one can put out a higher level of energy. The FC-Stick can charge a cell phone, the FC-Cube a Nintendo DS, and the FC-Cube Dual is good enough to power a notebook for about 3 hours.
Aquafairy will be selling its power units and their hydrogen cartridges for varying prices sometime this year, but I’m not certain where it will be released.
