Remember the WWDC 2008? All that fuss about the 3G iPhone? And did we get what we wanted? Well we did get some of it but we were expecting for much more. One other useful thing that came out of this WWDC was the new online service MobileMe. MobileMe will replace the .Mac service and @mac.com addresses will switch to @Me.com. Since MobileMe is available for pre-order, does the new Me.com email address work already?
It has been reported that for some existing .Mac customers their Me.com mail is already working while others said it’s not working at all. The Me.com will be launched sometime in July, on the same day or after the 3G iPhone will be released. It will cost $99 per year and you will get $30 off your first MobileMe subscription if you buy a new Mac. .Mac customers will be able to keep their existing Mac.com email while using the new Me.com address.
In case you forgot, MobileMe will offer push email, contacts and calendar to your Mac, PC and even iPhone or iPod Touch. That means constant live update, photo sharing and 20GB of online storage. Not to bad, but not necessarily a must have.
