Apple’s iPhone to Stay with AT&T for a Longer While?

It looks like Apple really likes its partnership with AT&T. In fact Apple’s COO said about the collaboration between the two companies the following:

We believe they’re the best wireless provider in the U.S.. They put the full force and weight of their company behind it. We’re very happy with the relationship we have and do not have a plan to change it.

Does that mean that Apple will extend the exclusive deal it has with AT&T beyond 2010? We do know that Apple won’t make a CDMA version so Verizon or Sprint will not get the iPhone just yet and T-Mobile‘s UMA 3G network is two small right now to even think about an iPhone for it. But since everyone is testing LTE and getting ready to launch 4G networks in the future, can we assume that Apple will change its mind when the iPhone 4G will be ready to hit the market?
