Apple’s iPhone did very good in the U.S. lately. In fact the iPhone 3G did so well in sales that it managed to grab that number one position held by Motorola’s RAZR. That all happened during the third quarter of the year. RAZR’s was holding that number one spot for about three years. Motorola fell on the second place and it’s followd by the BlackBerry Curve, the Rumor and the V2, both from LG.

Ross Rubin, director of industry analysis for NPD said:

The displacement of the RAZR by the iPhone 3G represents a watershed shift in handset design from fashion to fashionable functionality. Four of the five best-selling handsets in the third quarter were optimized for messaging and other advanced Internet features.

Well then, we’re waiting for Moto to get a new device at least as popular as the RAZR. Maybe an Android RAZR?
