Apple’s anti-explicit campaign probably more about image than valuesBy Mark Rollins - 02/26/2010 7:20:53 PM |
We’ve been reporting a lot on Apple’s crackdown on explicit apps, which began with the ending of Wobble. (By the way, it’s back up again.)
I think I have been posting on this every day, and so I thought I would complete my week with the reason for this anti-explicit crackdown from Apple. According to my source, Apple was concerned that the presence of explicit apps would create a spirit of the App store which could scare off more conservative customers.
I guess it makes sense, but there is a thing about giving people what they want, even if you don’t like what you’re giving them.
Okay, have a good weekend, and I probably won’t cover this again unless some earth-shattering development occurs.
