Apple announced that it has updated the MacBook Pro line of notebooks, fitting them with the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors and RAM up to 4GB in a new, lightweight, aluminum enclosure that's just 1" thin.
The new 15-inch models feature a mercury-free display, along with a battery saving LED backlight. There's also a 17-inch model with optional hi-res display. iSight video camera now comes default with the new models, as well as 802.11n wireless networking.
With the new processor, Apple claims that professional grade software like Final Cut Pro 6 and Logic Pro 7 run up to 50% faster on the MacBook. The LED backlight on the 15" model is part of Apple's effort to produce mercury-free products.
The 17" model's hi-res display option offers you a whopping 1900x1200 display. Other built-in goodies include Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, FireWire 800/400 ports, and a DVI video input.
