While we keep hearing how Apple and Verizon are going to launch the first MacBook tablet in 2010, the Financial Times has a different view on the story. According to them the tablet will be released sometime in September. And it looks like Apple has gotten some partnerships ready for the big launch. EMI, Sony Music, Warner Music and Universal Music Group are going to work with Apple in preparation for the tablet launch.
What’s the purpose of these partnerships? Well it looks like the whole thing is called Cocktail and its purpose is to increase music sales by offering albums with extra features like liner notes or video clips. Will it really work?
Another unusual piece of information is the fact that the tablet is not equipped with a cellular radio which would make anyone wonder why Verizon is interested in the device.
So which one is it folks? What should we believe?
