Apple Secures Patents for iPad Accelerometer and Broadband AntennaBy Brian - 03/30/2010 10:08:57 PM |
At least now Apple is making sure that they don’t get dragged into any patent infringement issue once the iPad comes out. Apple has secured patents to cover the iPad’s use of its accelerometer and broadband antenna.
The patents relate to the use of the iPad’s accelerometers in gaming apps, displaying and changing the orientation of maps, and adapting 3D surround sound to a particular screen orientation. The second patent covers a new kind of radio antenna that is capable of working with a wider range of radio frequencies while fending off interference from other signals.
