Replacing the .Mac with the new MobileMe was something people were anxiously waiting for. And the transition wasn’t smooth at all. As you can see in the Apple apology above, they recognize the MobileMe mess and categorize it as “a lot rockier than hoped”.
Apple also admits the service isn’t working properly and they seem to want to retract the word “Push” since not everything gets pushed as advertised. Further more a 30-day extension has been given to all MobileMe subscribers. That means you have 30 more free extra days to test MobileMe out while waiting for Apple to sort their problems.
Apple acknowledges the reported problems with pushing stuff to PC and Mac. It appears that the push service is working to and from the iPhones instantly while PC and Macs require around 15 minutes to push email, contacts and calendar. So basically that’s why they aren’t calling it “Push” anymore.
I hope Apple is working round the clock to make things run smoother. After all changing the name isn’t the solution. What will it be called? MobileMe - 15 minutes or so?
