Apple releases iPhone OS 3.0.1

The day is finally here, Apple has officially announced that iPhone OS 3.0.1 is ready for download. There isn’t much to go along with this update other than the fact that it fixes an SMS exploit that could have potentially given hackers control of your phones.

Anyways, to pick up version 3.0.1 just sync your handset with iTunes and update it like you normally would.

For a complete technical incompetent, I managed to jailbreak the iphone 3G runnning 3.0 and another iphone running 3.0.1, thanks to the idev team…..

(Which the latter i regret….)

I actually want to downgrade the 3.01 software version BACK to the 3.0 version!. Not for jailbreak purposes (job done on that)… its just im trying to download particualr app that Cydia only supports in the 3.0 iphone version.

Have googled to within an inch of my life, and have found one site about downgrading 3GS 3.1 back to firmware 3.0…. but not entirely s
sure if 3.0 and 3.01 and 3.0.1 (OS 3.01) are the same thing?

Can anyone advise to a complete numpty at all of this? I just need to get back to the 0.3 version (and believe me when i say i have tried the “restore” with iphone (and re-installed the 3.0 version, at least 10 TIMES!! and lovely apple/itunes, still showing as running the 3.01 version!!!!

Any idiot proof step by step help woudl be so much appreciated please???

3.0.1 and 3.0 is the same firmware!!! Hence the 3.0 why fo back? Maybe u should not have gotten greedy and updated!! Ever thought of that!
