Apple Releases Aperture 2
Apple has released Aperture version 2. Aperture is the company's own image editing and management software. The new version features new tools for local contrast definition, highlight recovery, soft-edged retouching, color vibrancy, RAW fine-tuning, and vignetting. Aperture 2 also has the functionality to allow users to post their pics directly to the .Mac Web Gallery to be viewed directly through the iPhone, iPod, or Apple TV. The new software allows switching between Viewer and Browser modes using a single key. The performance has also been enhances for the version 2 which means better edited pics.
Aperture 2 works seamlessly with Mac OS® X, iLife®, iWork™, .Mac and Apple print products, so any image in the Aperture library can be accessed directly from within other applications, such as iMovie®, Keynote® and Pages®, and even from within Leopard™ Mail.
Aperture 2 is available for US$199 while those who already own the previous version can upgrade for only US$99.
