Apple rehires Newton developer

If you weren’t aware, the fabled iTablet will not be Apple’s first shot at a touchscreen tablet device. Way back in the early 90s, Apple developed the Newton platform that would find its way onto devices such as their MessagePad.

Well, the above history is relevant as it was recently made known that Apple has rehired Mike Tchao who was previously part of the Newton team. Of course, since there is no longer a Newton team, Tchao will assume the role of VP of Product Marketing.

Considering his prior work at Apple involved a tablet styled device this announcement could lead one to believe that Mr. Tchao will be getting his hands on marketing the iTablet.
