Apple has entered the mobile business about a year ago and they are already making it into the top 3 smartphone sellers worldwide, and they make it second in the USA for same market.

The iPhone’s popularity has been growing and growing. In Q1 2008 Apple has already sold 1.7 million iPhones. That’s prior to WWDC. Remember those Apple store lines, when several stores accross the world ran out of phones? Imagine what will happen after June 9th especially as the iPhone will be subsidized. Apple will be going strong for a better position.

A recent Gartner study shows that Nokia is still the worldwide king of smartphones with almost 50% of the market, with RIM coming in second with almost 14%. In the USA, Nokia looses their lead as they aren’t so popular there, with RIM coming in first and the Apple second. But as other manufacturers have more than 1 phone to brag with, Apple has only one with another coming in 2 days. How is that for a competition.
