iPhone TomTomI like Apple for various reasons, too many to list here, but they just managed to strike out one more time with me in about three days.

First of all they managed not to add that much to the iPhone as I was expecting. Sure there’s 3G and GPS but where is everything else? Strike one!

Then they manged not to say a word during the whole WWDC keynote about the Snow Leopard, and when they did reveal it, we were “happy” to find out it’s only a support OS meant to improve the future Apple OS. Two half-strikes there which add up and we have the strike two!

But denying TomTom’s GPS software, designed for the 3G iPhone, from being released through the App Store will get Apple a third strike! Here’s an excerpt from the SDK agreement:

Applications may not be designed or marketed for real time route guidance; automatic or autonomous control of vehicles, aircraft, or other mechanical devices; dispatch or fleet management; or emergency or life-saving purposes.

Luckily my game doesn’t end on the third strike considering how many strikes Ballmer already has!
