Apple iPhones now being offered contract free, just not unlocked

iphone-3gs-hands-onOur friends at Engadget have just informed us that Apple is selling the iPhone “at list price”. They have confirmed it at $499 (3G), $599, and $699 (3GS).

The catch? These phones are still locked to AT&T. Yeah, it’s “an off contract pricing scheme”.
