Is it just me or you happen to notice the coincidence too. Apple’s new firmware has just been released, just when the Storm got out. Well we all knew that the Storm is coming but we also knew the new firmware is getting here. Just go to iTunes and do your thing. Be prepared to wait a while as this firmware is slightly bigger than the previous one at 246.4MB.

You should be curious as to what Apple has included in this one. Here’s a list of features, some more useful than others:

  • Google Street View in Google Maps
  • Public transit and walking directions in Google Maps
  • Display the address of a place when you drop a pin
  • Share your location via email
  • A fix for a scheduled fetching of email bug
  • Improved stability and performance of Safari
  • Podcasts can be downloaded right to the iPhone over WiFi or 3G
  • A decrease in call failures/dropped-calls
  • Improved sound quality of visual voicemail messages
  • The ability to return to the main home iPhone screen with the click of the home button
  • The ability to turn on and off the keyboard auto-correction feature

Sure you will find none of the things you actually wanted: copy paste, no MMS, although others are doing it. No voice dialing, no Flash support and no Push Notification and no GPS turn-by-turn directions.
Need I say more? Now let’s focus on the big release happening today. The Storm is coming!
