The long wait may be finally over for the many people looking to get their hands on Apple’s iPad. And if Apple stays true to its word, pre-orders would be taken in today at 5:30 AM PST. And if you haven’t heard, the Apple Store has been closed for the said event, leaving a note saying that they will “be back soon” perhaps signaling that Apple is getting ready for those bulk pre-orders to come in.

On another note, do remember that pre-orders will only be for the WiFi version. The 3G model will be made available by April, practically the time when the WiFi version would be handed out. The 16GB version of the WiFi only model will be going for $499, while the 32GB version will be $699.
