It looks like Apple number for the financial fourth quarter are out. And Apple has been quite successful at doing that thing it does, sell stuff. Don’t start with me now, Apple haters, just take a look at the numbers. In Q4 Apple sold 6.9 million iPhone 3G which is more of the total 6.1 million iPhone first-gen sold in the previous quarters. RIM’s sales this quarter have been surpassed by Apple. But that’s not that relevant since RIM isn’t getting BlackBerries in all those countries an iPhone has already landed.

As for Mac sales, these grew 21% compared to last year. A total of 2.6 million Macs were sold which is more than any other quarter, ever. Add 11 million iPods to all that and get a profit of $1.1 billion out of the total revenue of $7.9 billion. As for the App Store, there are 5,500 applications already and Apple will sell its 200 millionth application sometime tomorrow.
