Antennagate response Part 1: NokiaBy Mark Rollins - 07/18/2010 7:00:09 PM |
This is the beginning of a series of reports from major cellphone companies in response to the Apple Press Conference last Friday addressing the antenna problem. First up is Nokia.
Apparently, Steve Jobs mentioned that Nokia has stickers on its phones that tell the user not to touch there unless they want reception problems. I don’t think Nokia liked being mentioned. In fact, their response was something to the extent of: “we prioritize antenna performance over physical design if they are ever in conflict”.
It sounds like they are saying: “yes, we know that holding our phones in a certain way could affect antenna reception. However, we would have made certain those problem spots would have been elsewhere if we had made the iPhone”.
Oh snap! Tune in for Antennagate response Part 2, when we reveal what HTC has to say.
