Hot on the heels of the speculation that the Motorola CLIQ would be getting Android 2.1 next month, HTC has announced that one of their flagship devices, the HTC Hero, will too be getting the 2.1 treatment next month.

If you’re a loyal reader, you probably already know that HTC has been cookin’ this update up for some time now but has yet to release an official date. Now, we still don’t have an exact date but we do know that Android 2.1 will be coming to the HTC Hero in “mid-March”. This update, of course, will sport HTC’s critically acclaimed Sense UI.

When an exact date is known, you’ll be the first to know.
