If you purchased a Kindle 2 recently, watch out what you’re doing with it. It’s being reported that Amazon threatened a site that offered instructions on how to trick the Kindle ino reading other types of files.
A Russian hacker found a way to view non-proprietary files on the Kindle and that’s why Amazon came in strong, talking DMCA at the wrongdoers. The software wasn’t even hosted on the site in question. Who will Amazon go after next? Will the company sue everyone taking advantage of the Kindles in a way they shouldn’t?

um, hello, they cant sue.
the RIAA tried doing that a while back with music CD’s claiming that anyone who bought a CD cannot rip it onto their computer.
the judge, thank goodness for his infinite wisdom said otherwise.
when u buy a CD, u can do ANYTHING u want with it so long as it’s not illegal like sharing.
so now amazon is saying if i bought the kindle 2, i cant jump up and down on it if i want?
how about throwing it against a wall?
or using it as a plate?
basically, u bought the kindle 2 and if u want to tweek the inside, it is your property to do with as u please.
AMAZON HAS NO RIGHT AND IF WE GRANT THEM THE RIGHT, THAN THE PERSON WHO INVENTED THE TOILET CAN SAY U CANNOT FLUSH ANYTHING DOWN THERE EXCEPT PEE AND POO IF THEY SO CHOOSE!
WAKE UP PEOPLE!
