Amazon Mobile: iPhone Application

In addition to the Numberkey application that provides a numeric keypad for iPhones, and the GiftCertificates app for online “shopping”, there is another big player that launched an iPhone Application: Amazon.

The free Amazon Mobile application has the obvious functionality of letting users browse their catalog online, and to buy products instantly while using the cellphone. To make it a bit interesting, there is a feature called Amazon Remembers which has the following working method:

- take a photo with your iPhone of anything you’d like to buy
- share it with the Amazon folks
- let them search the catalog to see if they can find a match
- wait for an email if they can really find it
