Amazon has come forth today to announce the latest addition to their popular line up of eBook readers with what they are simply calling the Kindle when in reality it is the Kindle 3. But anyways, this newest Kindle will feature a new high contrast 6-inch E-Ink screen with faster page refreshes, a 21% smaller form factor, a 15% lighter weight clocking in at just 8.7 ounces, double the storage of previous Kindles and a battery that lasts up to one month on a single charge.

You may have already known that Barnes & Noble came forth to announce a WiFi only version of their Nook with a lowered price of $149 but Amazon will be taking things a step further pricing their WiFi only Kindle at just $139. If you still want a Kindle with 3G you can buy that too but this time for $189.
