Android running on netbooks and laptops is the next logical step of Google’s OS and its progress. While the big names in the industry are working on such devices, a Chinese manufacturer, Skytone is the first company ready to show off a working prototype. The Alpha 680, which we have already seen, will have an ARM11 533MHz CPU, a 7-inch 800×480 display, 128MB of DDR2 RAM, a 1GB SSD drive, SD slot, two USB ports, WiFi and a 2-cell battery. The Alpha 680 will be probably just the first Android netbook and we’re anxious to see what it can do. The device will launch in Q3 2009 and it will cost around $250.
