I thought that Alltel are simply going to wait to get acquired by Verizon Wireless. But they sure aren’t. We’ve just learned a couple of days ago that they are going to expand their EVDO Rev A. network coverage and today we hear their going to offer WiFi service to all those interested.

Alltel has just announced their nationwide WiFi service will which be powered by Boingo. Curios about prices? Well you can choose to go Alltel WiFi for only $20/month or $4/day. That will give you WiFi access at more than 25K hotspots. Go to airports, hotels, coffee shops and get online with Alltel.

If you are already an Alltel customer you can choose the rather expensive Internet Anywhere plan for $70/month which will give you unlimited EVDO and WiFi connectivity.

Isn’t that good news? It is as long as Verizon won’t change everything tomorrow!
