Alltel is ready to launch a touchscreen phone. It’s the Samsung Delve or the r800. It has that Omnia or Instinct-like design but it’s a totally new and original phone. It has EV-DO 3G support, stereo Bluetooth, Samsung’s TouchWiz interface, a microSD card slot, a 2-megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headset jack. There’s a virtual QWERTY keyboard, a 500-contact phone book and a full HTML browser to play with.
The touchscreen phone will be available on November 6th for $199 with a service contract and after $100 mail-in rebate.

its same with samsung omnia? or it samsung omnia serires?
While the Samsung Instinct boasts touch-sensitive controls under the touchscreen display, the Samsung Delve appears to have three physical buttons instead. The rest of the specs are pretty much on par, offering you a 3.0-inch touchscreen, virtual QWERTY keyboard, 2 megapixel camera, HTML browser, and stereo Bluetooth. The Delve also gets equipped with US Cellular’s navigation software and Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. The threaded email and SMS are pretty nice too.

I bought the Samsung Delve R800 about a week ago and I am very unhappy with the feature of how it rings. I called Alltel and they said that it could not be changed. Someone needs to come up with a software that will allow the phone to ring loud from the very beginning and not get louder the more it rings. I plan on taking the phone back. The guy I spoke with from Alltel said he googled the phone and they were a lot of people complaining with the way it rings.
I REALLY wont one of these phones! but what i wont to know about it is the touchscreen? when you put it in your pocket does it have a key pad lock? lol b/c i dont wont to be calling ppl…you know what i mean!
Omg i got the samsung delve it is a pretty nice fone its touch screen rlly cool but wen ppl call u it starts out soft tone then it begins to ring louder like 13 seconds later umm be careful with ur charger it will easily brake if u plugg it in.:)♥
I have this fun as well and very unhappy with it. The volume of rings is too low. Does not support any messagers and the internet is slow. After a while of having it, it starts to glitch and freeze, and occasionally shut off it self in a middle of a call. When I have a call the feeback echoes and statics at times. So in my opinion its not worth the buy. I was excited to see this phone as well but it was a big let down.
