Alltel Launches Voice2TXT Service
We can only imagine how mobile technology would be like in the future. As of late, humans keep finding new ways to make our lives easier (and in the process, turn us all into lazy bums). When SpinVox came out with the Voicemail to Text conversion technology, we all knew various companies would start jumping on the bandwagon. Sure enough, Arkansas-based Alltel Corporation launched its Voice2TXT service last Friday, December 14, 2007.
It would cost all Alltel subscribers an extra $4.99 for 20 conversions per month and for 100 conversions -- $19.99. According to SpinVox, their technology could translate not only English but also German, French and Spanish. For $4.99 a month, it's worth taking a spin even just for the heck of it, don't you think? If Alltel holds a concert for this new addition, people would surely be more enamored into trying it out.
