Alltel Corp. announced it will offer a new “Day Pass” service for wireless Web browsing. For $1.50, Alltel customers will be able to buy a 24-hour pass to Alltel’s Axcess wireless Web service.

Alltel's Axcess wireless web service currently works through technology from their partner, Motricity. As a part of the announcement, Alltel also revealed that customers can browse for ringtones, ringbacks, and wallpapers without eating up their minute (it's about time!!). Alltel is attempting to increase sales of its data plans in light of its recent sagging voice sales.
