In case you were wondering, yes, Alcatel is still making phones. But it’s not everyday that we get an Alcatel phone to talk about. The OT-S520 it’s not the cheap smartphone you are looking for. It costs just $30 and it’s just a simple, regular phone. There’s nothing really special about it other than the price.
What you get for that price is a neatly designed handset. It has MP3 ringtone support and a 0.3 megapixel VGA camera. Connected to a PC it transforms into a webcam which might be really useful in some situations. You get a 1.8 inch display, a battery that supports 10 hours of talk time or 400 hours of standby, speakerphone and USB connectivity.
The OT-S520 from Alcatel will retail for just $30. That’s free of contract of course. You might even get it for free with some carriers.
