Hi!

I just bought this Acer 2930 unit Core 2 Duo with 4GB Ram. I also installed xp but home edition. The problem is with the operating system. XP can only recognize up to 3GB of RAM, you have to use vista if you want all 4 GB.

I also experienced a random restart in the middle of using it. I also got the BSOD (Blue Screen) twice almost back to back while donwloading from the internet.

I don’t know if it’s the laptop problem or a software I use.

hello.
i have the same model (p8400, 4GB RAM, HD4500 VGA…).
i set up on this machine WINDOWS XP PRO SP2 x86/32bit ENG a have some questions/problems.

- i set up hibernation as well and i lost 1GB of RAM. i still have 3GB, but what with other GiG ? how can i share

this one GiG to VGA ? HD 4500 support about 1,7GB memmory…

- another problem - my machine restarts and i dont know why.. im working and .. restart.. and there is not CPU

overheated or something similar.. just restart. first phase is like reset, than starts and boot normaly to win…

can somebody help me ?
