A video demo of Microsoft’s Street Slide

Once again, Microsoft is taking some tech and improving on it. This time, it is Google Street View. You can watch this video and see Microsoft’s Street Slide in action.

Granted, the vocab of the announcer is quite advanced, but it is pretty darn clear what it is doing. Note how the street becomes a thin strip, with addresses on the top and the bottom. You can then zoom in and go down other streets as well.

My Source says that they Microsoft had 20 people find a variety of places with either their Street Slide or Google’s Street View. Apparently, those that used Street Slide found what they were looking for 17 seconds faster.
