A 3G Linux Phone Under $100 To Be Showcased in Mobile World Congress

Linux has become a promising mobile platform. In fact, analysts conjecture that it will be at a competing level with Symbian and Windows Mobile platforms. As such, numerous manufacturers decide to design Linux-based mobile phones. Aside from Mast, NXP Semiconductors and Purple Labs have come with what they claim to be the first 3G Linux phone to cost under US$100. The affordable phone would feature video streaming, music playback, high speed internet, and video telephony. The phone, would be named "Purple Magic," would be showcased in the Mobile World Congress next month, February, in Barcelona.
