Not long after word hit the streets that Amazon would be releasing the Android powered Kindle Fire, Barnes & Noble came forth with an announcement of their own in the form of the Nook Tablet. This device is essentially a beefed up Nook Color with things such as a dual-core processor, 16GB of storage and more. Due to the bump in storage over the Kindle Fire, the Nook Tablet also features a price tag that is $50 more but this may no longer be the case.

According to recent leaks it seems that an 8GB touting Nook Tablet may soon be released. While this isn’t confirmed, it would seem like a logical move to better compete with Amazon’s highly popular Kindle Fire. Of course, until someone officially involved in the matter but if this leak is correct the Nook Tablet will be available at Walmart on February 22nd.
