The people of Delhi can now enjoy video streaming applications like TV movie downloads and high speed data download on mobile phones as Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) launched its 3G services, aptly named ‘Jadoo’. The service enables customers to see their caller live on screen and make overseas calls using VOIP technology at just Rs 3 per minute

From MTNL to MTNL, users would have to pay 60 paise per minute and on other networks it would cost Re 1 per min on local calls, while STD and ISD charges would depend on the budget plan (for voice calls). Whereas for video calls, the same network would cost Rs 1.80 and on other networks, Rs 3.75 per min, while for STD— Rs 3.75 and for ISD users would have to pay Rs 30 per minute.

The launch was made possible by the 3G spectrum allocation for MTNL by the Department of Telecommunication. The company had already launched IPTV, VOIP and latest technology ADSL 2+ broadband services earlier on. 3G services are initially available in NDMC areas but will be soon expanding to the entire Delhi and NCR.
