3D Mapping program demoed on Sony Ericsson X10

At CES 2010, 3D technology was all the rage for home theaters, but nobody has mentioned its applications for cellular phones. Check out this video of Ericsson Lab’s new API that allots for three-dimensional maps.

These 3D graphics are powered by C3 technologies on Sony Ericsson’s soon-to-be released X10. You will note how the footage is always at 30 frames per second, no matter how much the user is adjusting the image. We’ll see where this technology goes in the next few years.
