30 Nov 09 Coyote Mini v2 – GPS Radar Detector

Due to speed limits and other factors many people don’t like speed cameras, nor red light cameras, and not even a normal radar gun. To prevent and alert you when these type of situations are about to happen, there is a gadget named radar detector and Coyote just launched the second version of their product called Coyote Mini v2.

While using the Coyote Mini v2, the user has access to big screen that displays various information, as well as 2 types of alerts: sound and visual. The device can also gather information about real time traffic updates, so lets call it a multi-tasker and not just a radar detector.

30 Nov 09 Would You Sit on a Thinkpad Laptop from Lenovo?

Lenovo seems to think that it’s Thinkpad laptops are so durable that one could definitely sit comfortably on one of them while not working on it. Would you do that to your laptop?

Well it looks like some of those Thinkpad has been mistaken for bus and tram shuttle seats. The devices in the pictures are real computers and they are real seats too. Mounted in busses and tram shuttles in Germany, these tough Lenovo laptops are part of Ogilvy Frankfurt’s Lenovo campaign.

The computers will let you surf the web although you’d probably want to do some resting instead of surfing while on a bus. What about your laptop? How many pounds of pressure can it deal with?

30 Nov 09 Church installs cellphone jamming device and gets fined

It happened in New Zealand, a church that was tired of seeing their services interrupted due to phone calls and other sounds coming from mobile phones, decided to install a cellphone jamming device inside the church, but in the end that didn’t make much sense because they got fined.

One of the reasons that made this solution work in the wrong way is related to the concerns made by Vodafone, that stated some problems in the area were affecting the network.

The church is understood to have been donated the jamming equipment. It has been illegal to sell jamming devices since August 2009, but not to import them from overseas sellers.

30 Nov 09 Send Free MMS to BBC Radio 1 on the UK

Listeners of BBC Radio 1 on the UK will have the chance to send free MMS to the radio station on the 11th of December, which will be part of the “Access All Areas” week.

As you can imagine, these picture messages are suppose to include greeting messages and their objective is for the young kids to get involved with the radio station.

Martin Ballard, from MDA – Mobile Data Association – comments:

BBC Radio 1’s Picture Messaging Day should provide a springboard to generate further interest in the medium. Our getsettings website aims to address configuration issues around older handsets in circulation and SIM-only contracts. But the emergence of increasingly sophisticated and affordable devices means users can begin to capitalise on the rich mobile messaging facilities which are now available, as they did with text messaging at the beginning of the decade.

Visit the webside made by MDA for more info – http://www.getsettings.org.
