Nokia 6700 Classic Cell Phone

|

Nokia has just announced a new cell phone called the Nokia 6700 Cell Phone. This phone, combines smooth surfaces, rich materials and precisely crafted parts with a full metal keymat which completes the premium finish. Improving on all areas of its forerunner, the Nokia 6700 comes with a 5 megapixel camera, assisted GPS navigation with Nokia Maps, and high speed data access meaning sharing images or video is faster and easier than ever. At an estimated retail price of EUR 235, before taxes and subsidies, the Nokia 6700 addresses the original Nokia 6300 customer need and aspiration level perfectly.

The Nokia 6700 classic, continues the legacy of one of the company's most successful products, the Nokia 6300. "The Nokia 6300 raised the bar in terms of design and premium materials when it arrived in 2006 and topped all sales records for a mid-range mobile phone. The Nokia 6700 moves that bar even higher with a beautiful, slim design and perfectly balanced practicality," said Soren Petersen, Senior Vice President, Nokia. "Our new arrival shares the same 'DNA' as its predecessor and we believe that it will be one of our best selling devices in 2009," continued Petersen.

    Meizu's M8 Ready to Launch?

    |

The Meizu M8 might just be an Apple iPhone knock off, but it might also be so much more than that. The Chinese smartphone looks just about ready to be launched. It uses the new 0.9.0.1 firmware which comes with copy and paste, Outlook calendar sync and a full backup system. There's a published SDK available and a license for the Chinese airwaves. All that might lead to a March release in China. And Meizu seems really confident in its M8:

Let's bear witness together, to the great moment of MEIZU formally entering the big stage of mobile phone industry!

Will Apple react in any way when the M8 gets released?

LG has a new phone in the works, the VX9600 or the Versa. We have no official details yet and therefore we have no idea when the phone is coming and how much it will cost.

One of the most obvious features of this phone is the detachable QWERTY keyboard module. Besides the detachable QWERTY keyboard we should expect a detachable gamepad, a pair of speakers and an Internet module with WiFi.

Nokia E75 to be Announced at MWC?

    |

The handset in the picture here is Nokia's E75. You might think it's the 5730 XpressMusic that Nokia announced a while ago but it isn't. It's a brand new phone which might be announced at the upcoming MWC.

The E75 will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a keypad, a 2.4 inch screen, a 3.2 megapixel camera, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity. I'd drop the keypad in favor of a larger screen but you can always get the N-97 if you want more screen space. No idea on the pricing and actual arrival date but MWC might bringon all these details.

Huawei Android Smartphone Coming to MWC

    |

February is getting closer and closer and we should already be anxious to see what the big names in the mobile industry are going to unveil at the Mobile World Congress. Take Huawei for example. The company is ready for the Android market and it will show its first Android smartphone at the MWC. We don't have any specs yet so someone should definitely leak some.

On a different note the company will bring the world's smallest modem to the Congress and the world first commercial HSPA+ Stick. A new digital photo display will also be announced at the MWC. I guess that Huawei is really going to make an impression. Let's hope their Android phone will sweep us off our feet.

The Netherlands, Austria and the Czech Republic are getting the G1 on January 30 while Germany is getting it on February 2. Poland will also receive the smartphone but at an unannounced yet date.

We don't have all the price details yet but we do know that in Germany the G1 will cost 1 Euro with a two-year contract.

The Nokia N79 comes now in an eco-friendly form. This is another green initiative coming from the Finnish company. The Nokia N79 Eco will ship to you without a charger. You will still pay the same price but £4 will go to WWF since there's no charger in the box. The box of the N79 Eco is smaller which means you'll also save on energy and waste.

Nokia N97 to Arrive on March 31st?

    |

Let's forget the Pre for a second there! We have one more hotter than hot phone due to come out this year. It's the Nokia N97 from our favorite Finnish phone manufacturers. The phone didn't get all the attention it should have and with all the buzz surrounding the Pre, the N97 could be neglected even more by the average consumer.

Is this why the phone seems to be arriving on March 31st? That's what Play.com is saying right now. The unlocked and SIM free N97 will cost around $707. Not to bad for probably the best phone Nokia has created so far. Rumors say that the U.S. version is set to arrive just after the European version so April might be definitely a good month for Nokia.
