|

Brother_HL-2170w_270x202.jpg
That's right I am presenting a wireless laser printer. I have had my share of mishaps with printers, laser or not, old or new, USB or parallel, you name it. One of the biggest problems when working with multiple devices are cables and cords. Not only do you need plenty of space to arrange the power cables and then the connectors to your computer but you also need to make them look good. Especially if you are working in an office.

So it was only natural that more and more wireless (laser) printers get created. And now we have the Brother HL-2170W model ready to be purchased. Its price ranges from $99 to $150 with new cartridges priced at $45. If I was changing my printer I'd sure consider it. Imagine setting this baby up in the bathroom kitchen office and simply Wi-Fi all your documents over. Isn't that a cool thing to do?

And let me give you a couple of specs for the HL-2170W:

Rumored: T-Mobile to Launch 3G Tomorrow

|

tmo3g.jpg
As you can see from the screen shot, T-Mobile are preparing to launch 3G plans in New York City Tomorrow, May 1st. This is a semi-confirmed rumor by this apparent T-Mobile internal document. With 3G being hot news right now, it's no surprise carriers will try to implement it as a viable plan to more and more of their subscribers.

3G will of course increase both calls quality and data transfer as well. For now T-Mobile refers only to getting a "great call quality" but I am guessing they also mean data transfer as well. 3G Plans are to be launched in New York first but 20 more cities will follow by the end of 2008.

I wonder how T-Mobile will sell their 3G iPhones compared to AT&T?

A time shifting feature pause the mobile TV while receiving calls. It is interesting to note that this small device comes with the picture in picture option that lets the users view two shows at one time.

Rumored: AT&T to Sell 3G iPhone from $199

|

att_iphone.jpg
The world is getting ready for the new 3G iPhone. Mobile carriers in the USA realize how big a hit the iPhone will be so they will be creating more and more deals meant to squeeze money from its subscribers.

The iPhones will sell no matter what and Apple will be profiting from that. Marketing ideas and thinking outside the box will also make carriers profit.

A rumor leaked from Apple. Apparently the AT&T, whom I was talking about yesterday, will sell an iPhone for $199. That's a huge 200 discount. Of course you would have to buy a 2 years plan but you get a cheaper phone. Apparently this deal will be available only in AT&T stores and not from Apple. If this proves to be a real think we'll keep you posted both with more details about it and with more specs of Apple's second generation iPhone.

iPhone Plan for the Deaf

|

apple_att_logos.standard.gif
Coming up with a plan for people with hearing and speech impediments was just a thing waiting to happen. AT&T are offering a Text Accessibility Plan which includes unlimited text messaging, unlimited data usage (internet and e-mail), visual voice-mail and $.40 per minute pay-per-use voice. All that for only $40/month after service activation.

How this works is actually very simple. After signing up for any AT&T iPhone plan, any customer will complete the required application form, and they will switch to the Text Accessibility Plan if they qualify.

I hope more and more carriers will offer plans and services like iPhone has. In our modern world with more sophisticated mobile devices, fast communication is no longer a luxury but a daily necessity which should benefit everyone.

Pics of the Nokia 6205

|

Nokia 6205a.jpeg

The yet-to-be officially announced Nokia 6205 could be seen with these photos. The Nokia 6205 will be an entry-level handset exclusively for Verizon Wireless. There is not much known information about the Nokia 6205 just yet, although the handset will reportedly feature 1x data and no EV-DO, external music controls, and basic VGA camera with flash. Since the images on the screen look small, Phone Arena surmises that it probably doesn't have QVGA resolution. In all, the clamshell Nokia 6205 seems to be a very basic (hopefully) low-end phone.

Another pic after the jump.

Is RIM Working on an iPhone Killer?

|
BlackBerry_AK.pngI really hate the term "iPhone Killer." It's so overused, and just about the term give for every other touchphone on the market similar to the specs of the iPhone. But as much as I dislike it, phone manufacturers know that to be able to eclipse the popularity of the Jesus phone and to be able to bring their brand and models to the forefront of the smartphone market, they truly need to come up with an "iPhone Killer." As such, Research in Motion is rumored to be developing its own revolutionary handset to compete with the upcoming iPhone 2nd gen with 3G connection. IntoMobile speculates that the branded BlackBerry AK (Apple Killer) might just be the BlackBerry 9100. However, we could only know for sure once these information substantiate. If RIM indeed comes up with an iPhone Killer, will you be genuinely interested in it?

Vertu Constellation Rococo Collection

|

Rococo_constellation.jpg

In celebration of its 10th year anniversary, Vertu is releasing yet another collection called the Vertu Rococo, which is named after an 18th century French movement for art, interior design, and fashion. The luxe phones are designed to please the most sophisticated of tastes. Take for example the ornate flower-patterned embroidery on the leather covering the back of the handset. It gives a sense of class and beauty. Well, at least it looks a lot better than the Vertu Cobra.

As usual, the signature "V" for Vertu is embossed on metal visible on the back of the handset. Of note is the exclusive sapphire version of the collection, which has a cabochon sapphire center button along with cabochon sapphire screws. But that's not the end of it. The version also boasts Rococo engraving (or floral-engraving) on the bezel, making it highly sought after version. The Rococo Collection by Vertu will be available this summer, and while there is no price yet, I reckon it won't be cheap.

Speed Racer on Mobile

This isn't the first time a game based on an upcoming movie has hit the small screens of cell phones, and it definitely won't be the last. But this by far is my favorite of all time, being a long time fan of Speed Racer and his arch enemy, the mysterious Racer X.

Jill Braff, Senior Vice President of Glu Games said, "We're really proud of the job our studio has done to develop a white-knuckle racing game on par with the level of quality that the Wachowski brothers expect. We're excited to be able to put this experience in the hands of consumers in anticipation of the film's debut."

The game will pit the players against other popular racers from the anime series including Racer X and will feature advanced graphics and 3D screens. Players get to drive the Mach 6 and utilize "Car-Fu," to take on the extreme tracks and obstacles with a unique gaming experience.

The game is already available on various networks across the world and will continue to be launched worldwide concurrent with the film's release date, which is May 9 in the States. Go, Speed Racer, Go!

TG Sambo 4.8 inch PMP for Korea

|

TGSambo.JPG

Here's one more device we may not see outside of Korea. The new PMP from TG Sambo looks great and has all the features you could ask for in a portable media player. The unnamed player has a generous 4.8-inch WVGA touchscreen display and runs on WinCE 5.0 with a nice-looking carousel menu. The large display is great for watching videos and to provide a great browsing experience on its Polaris browser in full screen aided by its 802.11b/g WLAN connectivity. The player packs a T-DMB receiver for some great digital TV action. With its 700Mhz Alchemy AU1250 processor, the PMP is pretty fast and with 16GB of Flash, it is well endowed on the memory side. There is full audio/video codec support along with an ebook reader, PowerDic dictionary, and get this, a flash player too.

There is no information on pricing yet but as always happens with good things we like, this looks destined to stay in Korea.

175px-Nokian_logo.svg.pngHow about getting your traffic reports on the go? Imagine driving through the interstate and checking your phone for the best route - with less traffic - to your destination. Well, you can probably do that as Nokia and ARC Transistance, the European network of automobile clubs, has gone into talks to provide users with real-time traffic information. This is said to be included in the new Nokia Maps 2.0, and in future versions of Nokia Maps.

With this integration, drivers will be alerted of traffic jams and conditions. This could probably shorten travel time and could result in a much safer for travel for citizens. When Nokia Maps receives the road updates from ARC Transistance, the application can dynamicly re-route during navigation and provide a faster route. This is a significant milestone for Nokia Maps, which makes navigation an even more compelling experience for Nokia device owners.
