1 Million iPhones by End of Q3 2007?

Steve Jobs projected that as many as one million iPhones would have reached consumers by the end of the third quarter. This was announced at a financial results presentation for the June 30 ended quarter. The net profits of $818 million dwarf the $472 mil last year for the same quarter.
In the first two days of the iPhone's launch, over 146,000 subscriptions were activated (obviously mine was one of them somewhere). Elsewhere it was business usual for Apple, with sales of over 1,764,000 Macintosh computers and 9,815,000 iPods during the quarter, both enjoying a healthy growth.
