Nokia launched a new 6267 S40 clamshell media phone today. The device is a quad-band GSM/EDGE handset that also supports UMTS 3G connections on the 2100 and 850MHz frequency bands. It would work in Europe and other parts of America.

The 6267 is aimed at the mid-tier market, and as such focuses on keeping cost, as well as complexity, down. The phone offers dedicated music controls on the exterior of the flip and has a 2 megapixel main camera for taking snapshots. Its microSD memory card slot supports cards as large as 4GB in capacity, which is enough for a lot of photos, videos, and music tracks.

Other standout features on the 6267 include a 16M color main QVGA (240x320) display, a 262k color 128x160 pixel external display, and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. The Bluetooth system supports A2DP stereo connections, which makes sense for a music friendly phone like the 6267.

The Nokia 6267's battery powers the phone for up to 6.5 hours of talk time and up to 12.5 days of standby time. The phone is expected to sell at 240EUR and starts shipping in Q3 of this year.
